Battle against evil

We experience all sorts of challenges in the fallen world, some which are as a result of the fallen nature of the world and some which are direct attacks from the powers and principalities of darkness.

Satan and his fallen angels (demons) are not omnipresent like God the father (I used to have a wrong belief that the devil is watching me to see when he can attack or kick me when I’m down), but rather operate like a courier business, where orders are received from a central place, to go and deliver various trials, diseases, worries and pains. The fallen angels them have to go out and find people they may devour. The Bible says that the devil walks about like a rouring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Notice that he is seeking, which means he cannot devour any or everyone.

How to overcome attacks

When Jesus was tempted on the mount, the devil twisted God’s Word and the truth in his attempt to have Jesus subject to him, but notice what Jesus does when he is tempted. Every time the devil attacks, Jesus responds with God’s Word.  Jesus is trying to teach us how to respond against the attacks of the enemy.

He uses God’s Word, and speaks it out loud for it to take effect. He didn’t think of God’s Word, or pray in his mind, he spoke it!

There are of course more things we need to consider when we want to walk protected against the principalities and powers of the unseen, the Bible tells us to put on the full armor of God. Explain…

I believe that as followers and believers of Christ we do have God’s protection, and we should continually pray and ask for God’s protection, put on the full armor of God and declare Psalm 91 over ourselves, our families, and friends.

When people come against us, or attack our character, remember that the battle is not against them, but against Satan and his fallen angels.

When we love our neighbors and love our enemies, we give no reason for an attack on friendships, family or other people. Let’s be the light of the world, receive the living water which the Lord Jesus gives and never thirst or want again.

The Lord Jesus bless you and we’ll see you next time.

Lots of love.
